Product Description

Galvalume Steel Coil

Authentic Steel supplies high-performance Galvalume Steel Coils (GL Coil / Aluzinc) manufactured through a continuous hot-dip coating process utilizing a specialized protective metallic alloy composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. This advanced coating architecture combines the long-term barrier protection and thermal resistance of aluminum with the sacrificial cathodic protection of zinc, delivering up to four times the atmospheric corrosion resistance of conventional hot-dip galvanized steel.

Produced in strict compliance with premier international standards—including ASTM A792, EN 10346, JIS G3321, and GB/T 14978—our GL coils feature superior surface smoothness, high thermal reflectivity, and reliable mechanical consistency. Available in primary commercial, deep-drawing, and high-strength structural grades, our Galvalume steel coils provide an ideal stock raw material solution for demanding industrial manufacturing, roofing panel roll-forming, and aggressive environmental exposures.

Key Technical Advantages & Features

  • Quadruple Corrosion Resistance: The 55% Al-Zn alloy coating forms a dense aluminum-oxide barrier that prevents progressive oxidation, delivering 2 to 4 times the service life of standard galvanized (GI) steel in marine and industrial environments.

  • Exceptional Thermal Reflectivity & Heat Resistance: Reflects over 75% of solar radiation to reduce building cooling costs, and withstands continuous high-temperature exposure up to 315°C without surface discoloration or scaling.

  • Superior Cut-Edge Protection: The cathodic action of the zinc component protects exposed cut edges, punched screw holes, and surface scratches against red rust creep.

  • Versatile Surface Passivation: Available with anti-fingerprint (AFP) acrylic coating (transparent, blue, or green), chromate passivation, or light oiling to enhance corrosion resistance and coil handling during roll forming.

  • Full Global Compliance & MTC Support: Fully verified through rigorous batch testing and delivered with official EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificates (MTC) for total batch traceability and international compliance.

Primary Industry Applications

Due to its high thermal reflection, heat resistance, and extreme corrosion protection under aggressive weather exposure, our Galvalume steel coils are widely deployed across major global sectors:

  • Building & Construction: Corrugated roof panels, insulated sandwich wall panels, floor decking sheets, rainwater gutter systems, architectural facades, and solar mounting structures.

  • Home Appliances & HVAC: Refrigerator back plates, oven linings, heating equipment components, air conditioner housings, and commercial ventilation ducting.

  • Agricultural & Industrial Equipment: Grain storage silos, livestock shed roofing, electrical enclosures, industrial silencers, and highway sound barriers.

Processing Compatibility & Quality Control

GL coils can be efficiently processed on standard high-speed uncoiling, longitudinal precision slitting, cut-to-length flattening, stamping, roll-forming, and bending lines with zero micro-cracking or coating adhesion failure.

To ensure uncompromised quality, every production batch undergoes strict Al-Zn coating mass verification (triple-spot weigh test), 180° T-bend coating adhesion testing, salt spray corrosion endurance testing, and continuous online digital gauge monitoring. Full heat-number traceability is maintained from raw substrate to final shipment. Material Test Certificates (MTC / EN 10204 3.1) are issued standard with every delivery.

Custom Processing & Export Packaging

We provide custom value-added processing including precision narrow-strip slitting, cut-to-length sheet flattening, and custom edge conditioning. All coils are prepared for long-distance ocean transport with heavy-duty export packaging:

  • Fully wrapped in rust-inhibitive VCI anti-rust paper and waterproof plastic film.

  • Fitted with external protective steel sleeves, inner/outer metal edge protectors, and protective side rings.

  • Bound with high-tensile radial and circumferential steel straps secured on seaworthy wooden pallets.
